On my last trip I had the pleasure of visiting Gostwyck Chapel which is 11 klms out of Uralla. This is a 'must see' if you are in the area.
Gostwyck Capel was built in 1921 and is still in use today though it sits on private property. There are some 200 Elm trees planted in the area surrounding the chapel.
The stone wall surrounding the chapel was built as protection against flooding but the floods of the 1950’s rose higher than the walls and caused much damage to the furnishings and carpets. Now when floods are immanent, the contents are removed to storage nearby.
Visitors are welcome to picnic in the surrounds of All Saints and the nearby Salisbury Waters.
