We spent one night here but could have stayed for an extra night or two. We had heard mixed reports about this camp and were somewhat apprehensive but it all turned out well.
The park is in an old hydro town and is very professionally run.
The grounds are well maintained and sites are level. Camping areas are split into clearly divided gravel & grass powered sites for caravans / motorhomes and an upper unpowered grass area right next to the camp kitchen & amenities block where we camped. The toilets were cleaned just after we checked in which was late afternoon (we found this odd) so I cant comment on their cleanliness but they were fairly new and seemed ok.
Some of our group stayed in the “Cottages†which are renovated houses from the old hydro workers. At $250 a night expectations were high, the houses were fantastically renovated with all new furniture they looked just like the pictures in the ad, personally I think they are a little overpriced given the location (in the middle of nowhere between Strahan & Queenstown !)
There is a Pub/restaurant within walking distance of the campsites - we had dinner there and we both thought the food and service could have been better but there is a Café at the other end of the town which does great coffee & cakes.
Only negative about this camp was that the Washing Machines were out of order.
