Princess Margaret Rose Caves Campground
In the Lower Glenelg National Park
Right on the Vic/SA border

Friendly on site management
Cabins
Unpowered Sites
Suitable for Tents, Camper Trailers, Vans, Motorhomes
(maybe not really big ones due to trees)
1 Area suitable for small groups
Limited sites, so booking advisable for busy times

We stayed 4th - 9th April 2009 (School Holidays)
Cost Us $15 per night for camp site (2 Adults, 2 Teenagers, 1 toddler)

Facilities :
Picnic Tables, Fire Rings with hot plate and billy hanger, Water Taps (river water)
Flush Toilets, Hot Showers, Camp Kitchen, Rubbish disposal trailer,
Jetty for fishing, launching Canoe/Kayak

Firewood is not to be collected from campground area or inside the National Park
There is plenty of firewood available in the nearby plantations.

Highly recommend this campground
Management was friendly & helpful,
Amenities were working and clean. Get in early for Hot showers in busy times

Weather was some drizzle & occasional showers which made the dirt
stick to everything, we will bring a mat for wiping shoes when we return.

From here we did trips to Mt Gambier & surrounds, Byaduk Caves, Mt Napier State Park,
Mt Eccles National Park, Portland, Nelson, and on the way back to Melbourne, Warrnambool.
As usual there wasn't enough time to do and see everything

Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations.
