UPDATE..... took my kids there this weekend

Postby cokebottle » Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:27 am

When I first went stayed at Middle Rock Caravan Park, located next to Samurai Beach I took my fiancee & her 3 kids, this weekend I took 4 of my 3 kids (boy 9, girl 6 & boy 4)

The 4 of us had a great time once again & no we did not go to the nude beach as it would not have sat well with my ex.

As I said previously, the caravan park is great for kids & this time we had a bit of excitement, when we got there we found a Goanna was doing the rounds of the campsites, he was maybe about 3ft long & it was going through all the rubbish bags near the tents.

At one stage he was in the tree next to our tent, my daughter was terrified, we went for a walk & it was gone when we came back.

Then just on sunset a Koala was spotted on the ground & it quickly ran up a tree with all the kids crowded around watching him.

Then he ignored us & started eating some gum leaves.

Later that night we went spot-lighting & spotted a Tawny Frog mouth!

Great camping ground for the kids! can see it turning into a regular camping destination for my tribe, not sure if I want to risk taking all 7 kids at once though ::()

I lost my spirit of adventure when I started having my 4 kids stay over with my fiancee's 3 kids every fortnight (WWIII at times), now I have to have a few wines to get over the stresss :***

Take them camping and let them run about and tire out and then off to bed early and then you can relax and enjoy yourself.

We have this rule when any kids come camping with our group that they all have to be in bed by 8:30. They don't have to go to sleep but they do have to be in bed and away from the adults.

Sorry Alan I will disagee with you there. I believe kids always need rules, they like to know the security of parameters.

My mum likes getting the wood, well the twigs for getting the fire started.

My kids ended up going to bed at about 9:30, my 4 yr old boy was starting to show signs of being overtired by then, he is normally in bed by 7:30 at home, we had a big day on Sunday at the tobbogan park on the way home too.

That is often the way of it, isn't it?? Big days running about, playing etc in the fresh air and it usually make them pretty tired pretty quick.

Swimming is another one that tires them out pretty quickly and often makes them want to eat you out of the camp as well.
