On a side note, have you considered getting an ipod touch instead of a ds? I was in this position this christmas and had actually bought the leapster. I ended up returning the leapster because my almost 4yo didn't really like it and it kept crashing my computer when I tried to sync it. I went with the ipod touch cos although you have to pay a bit more initially, the games are really cheap to download off the internet. In my son's case, most of them have been free. And they have been age appropriate, too. He can also store music, High 5, photos (although no camera unfortunately), and movies/dvds. I believe ds games are usually aorund $40-60 for new ones and $30 for secondhand ones. Food for thought.
Sorry to divert from the initial thread. 8)

Thanks. I'll try the scavenger hunt, that looks good.

I have found some good puzzle book for the kids. Should be good for the trip and for the morning.

ours are too young to do anything to assist with sleeping in time so we're usually up at 5'ish when camping, one of our boys is starting to sleep in a little at home so hopefully things will improve

and Im NOT a morning person in any shape or form. give me a 10am wake up a few days of the camp and that be heaven

I guess this post has moved sideways a bit.
So my input.
I sleep in, when camping or caravanning.
Around 5, have done for ever.
I wake up same time , but in the cot just after Sundown, especially in Winter.
Sleep more but wake same time.

I relented and got them Nintendo DS Lites. Did it for various reasons, will have to see how it goes. I'm going camping this weekend, but without the kids. Probably a good thing as they are predicting a bit of rain....

The last few trips the kids have been sleeping in much better. I think it's a combination of them getting used to it and the stern warning of dire consequences if they wake me up!
